Claude's Recommendations
- DRIVE: Acoustic Simulator (AS) at gain 5 (Tone control) — the intro and main body were played on a Harmony Sovereign H1260 acoustic guitar; the AS type transforms your Les Paul signal into a natural, woody acoustic-like tone; keep Tone (gain) low at 5 for warmth and body, NOT brightness.
- COMP/WAH: Very light Compressor (depth 2) — acoustic fingerpicking has natural dynamic bloom; this just barely smooths out the attack so arpeggiated notes ring evenly without squashing the natural feel of the picking.
- EQ: Low 6 (+3dB), Mid 5 (flat), High 4 (−3dB) — acoustic guitars have warm low-mid body and rolled-off high treble presence; pulling the highs back is critical to losing the electric 'sheen' and getting that woody acoustic character.
- NR/CAB: NR only (n), no cab sim — the Acoustic Simulator module already handles the tonal transformation; adding a guitar cab sim would ruin the acoustic illusion; NR at 3 just cleans up the signal slightly.
- REVERB: Small Room (r), level 3, decay 6 — the Harmony acoustic was recorded in a live room at Island Studios with natural room ambience; keep reverb subtle and short, not a big hall — this is an intimate sound.
- NO DELAY, NO MODULATION — the acoustic intro is completely dry; any delay or chorus will immediately make it sound like an electric guitar effect patch, killing the acoustic illusion.
