Claude's Recommendations
- DRIVE: Hog Fuzz (HF) at gain 35 approximates the chaotic, compressed fuzz Bellamy used on Unnatural Selection — the real rig used an MXR Blue Box (sub-octave fuzz) into a Diezel VH4/Marshall; the GEM Box's fuzz is the closest match for that thick, saturated wall-of-fuzz sound.
- COMP/WAH: Compressor at depth 6 mimics Bellamy's Keeley Compressor used during The Resistance tour — adds squash and sustain to the riff before hitting the fuzz.
- EQ: Mids boosted (6), highs slightly lifted (6), bass slightly cut (4) — Bellamy's tone has a strong mid-forward character with presence, not a scooped metal sound; this is key to cutting through.
- NR/CAB: 4x12 Stack sim (S) with NR at 6 — the high-output fuzz generates noise; NR keeps it tight between riffs. The 4x12 cab replaces Bellamy's real 4x12 Marshall cabinets.
- DELAY + PEDAL: Digital delay at ~380ms adds the subtle trailing repeats heard on the verse; expression pedal controls drive gain so you can back off for cleaner verses and push hard into the heavier chorus sections.
